It is hard to believe I’m in my 15th year serving as your Clerk of Court.
It has been a true pleasure meeting so many of you, my Constituents, whether during your visit to the Clerk's office, service as a Juror, or speaking over the telephone.
Our Clerk’s Office ultimately impacts the lives of every Citizen of Randolph County at some given time.
Throughout my tenure, I have worked hard to ensure the integrity of the Office, and I remain committed to ensure that every Citizen’s experience with our Clerk’s office is positive and respectful.
Since March of 2020, we have all faced very challenging and difficult times, involving the COVID pandemic.
During this time, in an effort to protect the Public and our Staff’s safety, we were eventually forced to change our office hours to ensure that sessions of court, as well as service to the Public, did not stop, and we appreciate your understanding during this unprecedented time.
I’m proud to say that Randolph County was one of the few counties in which non- jury sessions of Superior Court and District Court continued to be held throughout the COVID pandemic. Since November 2nd, 2020, immediately after suspension of jury trials was first lifted by the Chief Justice, Randolph County has held more jury trials than any other N.C. counties of which I am aware.
This accomplishment took the cooperation of all courthouse judicial officials, as well as our Sheriff’s office and Health Department, working together, to keep the wheels of justice rolling. In response to improving COVID numbers, our Clerk’s office has been back to running on regular business hours since February.
The Clerk's office Staff and I continue to implement necessary safety precautions to prevent further outbreaks of COVID and protect the Public, as well as our Staff of over 40 Assistant and Deputy Clerks.
Looking forward, the Randolph County Commissioners have approved a significant expansion project involving the Clerk’s office. This expansion will allow for much needed additional space for Staff and files/evidence, for which I am sworn to maintain and secure for you, the Citizens of Randolph County. In an effort to keep Randolph County Citizens informed, I will work closely with the County to report on various stages of our expansion. This expansion will effect the way in which we provide services to the Public, and I am committed to keeping our Citizens informed and updated.
Throughout the years, serving as your Clerk of Court, I remain passionate in my role as a public servant, committed to providing Randolph County Citizens good customer service, integrity and honesty. This service has always been and remains an honor and a privilege for me, and I sincerely appreciate your support. This coming December, 2021, I will re-commit to serving you, the citizens of Randolph County. I have tried never to take my role as the elected Clerk for granted, and I Respectfully ask for your vote and support.
I pledge to work hard for the privilege to once again serve you!
